Community Water Conservation Project
UPDATE: All Water Butts Have been booked!Welcome to the Enniscorthy Community Water Conservation Project, a joint initiative by Sustainable Enniscorthy and Enniscorthy Tidy Towns, funded by the Local Authority Water Programme (LAWPRO). This project aims to promote water conservation by distributing rainwater butts to households, community groups, and businesses across Enniscorthy.
Why It Matters: With changing weather patterns and increasing water restrictions, conserving water is more important than ever. Almost all drinking water for Enniscorthy comes from the River Slaney, and millions of liters of treated drinking water are used for non-essential tasks like gardening and washing cars. By harvesting rainwater, we can reduce the demand on treated water and support our environment. |
