​Join Us for the 2024 Slaney River Kayak & Cleanup on World Rivers Day!

Sustainable Enniscorthy, with funding from LAWPRO (Local Authority Water Programme) are teaming up with Enniscorthy Tidy Town and GoPaddle.ie for the second year in a row to host a special event on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, from 10am to 2pm. 

​This year’s river cleanup coincides with World Rivers Day, making it a perfect opportunity to appreciate and care for the River Slaney, which flows through the heart of our town.

Why Participate? The Slaney River Kayak & Cleanup offers a unique chance to experience the beauty of the river up close while contributing to its health by removing litter and debris. Supported by grant funding from LAWPRO (Local Authority Waters Programme), this event is all about fostering a cleaner, greener environment for Enniscorthy.

​Event Details:

• Date & Time: Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, 10 am - 2 pm
• Location: GoPaddle.ie, Edermine Bridge
• Cost: €5 booking fee
• Age Group & Competence: Participants must be 16+ and water-confident

What’s Provided:

• Double Kayak and Paddle
• Wetsuit, Buoyancy Aid, Helmet
• Fully qualified Canoeing Ireland Kayak Instructor

What to Bring:

• Swimwear or shorts and a T-shirt for under the wetsuit
• Towel
• Old runners that can get wet
• Any necessary medication (e.g., inhalers)
• Gardening gloves (if you have them)

Light Refreshments: Provided from 13:30 - 14:00
